Festivals in Procida
Processions that have gone on for four centuries, the patron saint who watches over sailors and a summer of games on the sea: the island's festival calendar, season by season.

The Procession of the Mysteries
The island's most heartfelt festival. On Good Friday the Confraternita dei Turchini, founded in 1629, carries the “Misteri” in procession: floats with sacred scenes built every year by the islanders and carried on their shoulders through the streets. The day before, on Maundy Thursday, the Arciconfraternita dei Bianchi leads the Procession of the Apostles.

San Michele Arcangelo, the patron saint
Saint Michael the Archangel, to whom the Abbey at Terra Murata is dedicated, is celebrated twice a year: on 8 May and 29 September. For centuries he has been the saint Procida's sailors entrust themselves to.
